Anchoring Long Wharf Theatre's 2021/22 season announcement campaign, this book transformed traditional theater marketing through an unexpected visual language inspired by quilting traditions. The design translated the intricate patterns and communal storytelling of quilts into a dynamic typographical experience that honored both craft and performance.
As the inaugural print piece for Long Wharf Theatre's newly established brand identity, this project offered the rare opportunity to pioneer uncharted creative territory. The design process became an exploration of how heritage craft traditions could speak to contemporary theater audiences, creating a bridge between tactile artistry and live performance.
Distributed to 3,000 Connecticut households, the book served as both artistic artifact and strategic marketing tool. Integrated QR codes generated over 300+ audience responses, establishing valuable engagement metrics while seamlessly blending analog and digital touchpoints. This dual approach demonstrated how thoughtful design can elevate functional marketing materials into memorable brand experiences that resonate long after the curtain falls.
